TE Connectivity showcases itself at the 2026 Munich Shanghai Electronics Fair.
On July 1, 2026, TE Connectivity (TE) showcased its products at the 2026 Munich Shanghai Electronics Fair (Shanghai New International Expo Centre) at booth W1-305. Under the theme "Expanding Boundaries, Creating Value Together," TE, together with its ecosystem partners, exhibited and launched several new technologies, expanding its reach across four dimensions: materials, processes, ecosystem, and industry. The company demonstrated its comprehensive value co-creation achievements for the automotive, industrial and commercial transportation, humanoid robots, and two-wheeled mobility sectors.
Materials Expansion | Driving Lightweight Wiring Harnesses
Driven by multiple factors, including the "dual carbon" goals, the trend towards automotive lightweighting, and the industry's pursuit of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, weight reduction and copper saving in wiring harnesses have become core industry demands. "Aluminum replacing copper" is both an industry call and an inevitable trend.
This year, TE, under the theme of "Comprehensive Aluminum Replacing Copper," showcased a full range of innovative applications of aluminum-copper technology in the field of vehicle connectivity. With a matrix of innovative technologies, including a new generation of low-voltage alloy aluminum wire, high-voltage full-series aluminum wire/aluminum busbar connection solutions, and aluminum system assembly solutions, TE can help customers reduce copper consumption in electronic and electrical circuits by 18% to 100%, simultaneously achieving material cost savings, process efficiency improvements, and carbon reduction goals. It is estimated that after large-scale deployment, this could reduce my country's annual carbon dioxide emissions by over one million tons. Meanwhile, the new generation of TE CSJ high-voltage connectors, HVA280 high-voltage connectors, and HVA630 high-voltage connectors, all featuring aluminum wire welding plate designs, have been launched, helping customers achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement while gaining more space, higher performance, greater vibration resistance, and electromagnetic compatibility, eliminating any concerns.
Process Expansion | Localized Process "Efficiency Improvement"
Material innovation also requires process support to take root. Aluminum is soft and prone to creep, and traditional crimping processes are easily damaged, while the industry's generally low welding efficiency. TE showcased its low-voltage alloy aluminum wire ultrasonic welding solution at the booth, reducing welding speed to less than one second and seamlessly integrating with existing automated production lines, alleviating the hundreds of millions of yuan in production line transformation costs for wire harness manufacturers.
As vehicle functions become increasingly sophisticated, the demand for flattened wires in confined spaces is rising, making flexible flat cable (FFC) assembly another technological challenge. TE's innovative piercing crimping solution significantly simplifies the process and achieves automation and efficiency improvements, resulting in cost savings and efficiency gains of over 10% across wires, auxiliary materials, and the overall process.
Furthermore, thanks to its rich process innovation capabilities and continuously deepening localization strategy, TE also demonstrated several process innovation examples on-site, helping customers quickly implement their results in vehicle-level innovations such as architecture upgrades, intelligent upgrades, 48V innovation, and collaborative safety protection.
Ecosystem Expansion | Win-Win Value Creation
Single-point breakthroughs often fail to solve systemic problems. No single company can independently complete the entire innovation chain from forward R&D of alloy materials, conductive line fabrication, connector design to high-speed welding processes. TE's answer is to transform into an ecosystem co-builder, constructing a highly embedded R&D ecosystem to unleash a multiplier effect through open collaboration.
This time, TE showcased equipment from ecosystem partners KOMAX and Jiaocheng Ultrasonic, as well as alloy aluminum products jointly developed with Boway Alloy, demonstrating the application of ecosystem co-creation achievements. From raw material formula optimization to welding process acceleration, from connection reliability verification to production line automation adaptation, TE's ecosystem R&D achievements have permeated every detail of materials, processes, and manufacturing, making technological innovation no longer an isolated island, but a systemic capability that can be linked and iterated.
For vehicle manufacturers, TE also plays a co-creation partner role in the ecosystems of multiple OEMs. Achievements such as the new generation of low-voltage alloy aluminum wire, roof FFC wiring harness solutions, 48V innovative connection technology, and intelligent cockpit and assisted driving connection solutions all demonstrate TE's continuous expansion within a broader ecosystem, playing a key role in strategic collaboration, joint innovation, and design empowerment. Industry Expansion | Breakthroughs in Robots and Two-Wheeled Vehicles
While leading profound technological transformation in the automotive, industrial, and commercial transportation industries, TE Connectivity is actively expanding its advanced connectivity technologies into emerging fields, achieving industry expansion and a multi-track layout. At this exhibition, TE showcased its innovative connectivity solutions for humanoid robots and two-wheeled vehicles for the first time, demonstrating the advantages of automotive-grade connectivity solutions and their breakthroughs in new fields.
In the industrial and commercial transportation sectors, high-voltage upgrades, megawatt-level fast charging, stringent protection, and intelligent integration are industry trends. TE's new quick-connect CBT series high-voltage connectors, next-generation megawatt-level charging sockets, and Ethernet and coaxial connectivity solutions for industrial and commercial transportation were all showcased. These solutions not only excel in high performance, high vibration resistance, and durability, but also help customers save assembly time and achieve cost reduction and upgrades through aluminum-for-copper conversion, achieving a balance between high performance, safety, and economy through superior design and manufacturing processes.
In the field of embodied intelligence, with the widespread emergence of humanoid robots and the upgrading of motion requirements, connectivity technologies face multiple challenges, including miniaturization, high reliability, and high-speed data transmission. TE showcased its comprehensive product line for humanoid robots, covering various connectivity solutions for robot perception, control, power, and joint components, helping to build robot products that possess robust physiques, agile minds, sensitive nerves, and durable joints.
In the two-wheeled mobility sector, TE leverages its expertise in automotive-grade solutions to empower two-wheeled vehicles to achieve comprehensive upgrades in intelligent configuration, product reliability, integrated architecture, and automotive-grade wiring harnesses. With automotive-grade intelligent configurations, TE has tailored ultra-reliable high-speed, high-frequency connectivity and active safety connectivity solutions for two-wheeled vehicles, ensuring a safer and more intelligent driving experience. Regarding powertrains, TE showcased dedicated charging docks and high- and low-voltage connectors for two-wheeled vehicles, supporting high-vibration-resistant through-plate solutions and simplified assembly processes, which have already been validated by leading OEMs. Furthermore, its automotive-grade low-voltage wire-to-wire connectivity products, combining performance and cost-effectiveness, can help two-wheeled vehicles achieve safety and reliability upgrades, enabling a leap in brand reputation towards premiumization.
Expanding Boundaries, Creating Value Together. Expanding its reach across materials, processes, ecosystems, and industries, TE is driving the transformation and upgrading of China's automotive and related industries through systematic innovation.
"From the 0.19mm² multi-win composite line two years ago, to last year's innovation in low-voltage alloy aluminum lines, and this year's 'comprehensive aluminum-to-copper replacement,' TE has explored a successful path for the industry to break through the competitive cycle through innovation. We look forward to empowering more industry partners to 'expand their reach together' and create more value through the collaborative innovation achievements of advanced materials, advanced processes, and the ecosystem."
