AVIC Optoelectronics has launched a comprehensive solution for 800-1500V high-power energy storage high-voltage connectors, accelerating the deployment and verification by leading energy storage customers.
With the rapid expansion of China's new energy storage industry, large-scale centralized energy storage and high-capacity industrial and commercial energy storage are accelerating their upgrade to 800V~1500VDC high-voltage architectures. High voltage, high power, and high safety have become the core development directions for energy storage systems. Recently, AVIC Optoelectronic, a leading domestic interconnect company, officially released a complete solution for high-power energy storage-specific high-voltage connectors across the entire supply chain. This solution precisely matches the mainstream high-voltage platform technology standards of large-scale grid-side energy storage power stations and high-capacity industrial and commercial energy storage modules. The solution has already been submitted to several leading domestic energy storage companies for sample reliability verification, accelerating the industrialization process.
According to industry data, the installed capacity of centralized and industrial/commercial energy storage in China will continue to grow rapidly in 2026, with the proportion of 800V and above high-voltage energy storage projects increasing year by year. Compared to traditional low-voltage solutions, high-voltage architectures can effectively reduce cable losses and system wiring costs. However, this places stringent demands on the voltage withstand capability, current carrying capacity, insulation protection, and arc protection capabilities of high-voltage connectors, indicating a vast potential for domestic substitution of high-end energy storage high-voltage connectors. Leveraging years of technological expertise in high-voltage interconnection, AVIC Optoelectronics' new product solution specifically addresses common industry pain points such as creepage, overheating, and arcing under 1500V high-voltage conditions. It provides a complete, integrated solution encompassing power connectors, signal connectors, high-voltage maintenance switches, and integrated power distribution connection components, covering the entire connection chain from energy storage PACKs and BDU power distribution units to converter PCS.
In terms of product performance, the entire solution covers a rated voltage range of 800V~1500VDC and a current rating covering the mainstream energy storage options of 60A-500A. The product incorporates multiple safety designs, including high-voltage interlocking (HVIL), multi-key anti-misinsertion features, and a secondary locking structure to eliminate safety hazards caused by incorrect insertion or loosening. The casing uses UL94-V0 grade flame-retardant insulation material, achieving an IP67 protection rating. It can operate stably for extended periods in a wide temperature range of -40℃ to 125℃, and in complex outdoor dust and humidity conditions, meeting the all-weather operation and maintenance requirements of grid-connected and commercial energy storage systems. Simultaneously, the terminals utilize a high-conductivity alloy precision plating process to optimize contact impedance, effectively reducing temperature rise during high-power charging and discharging processes and improving the overall energy efficiency of the energy storage system.
Leveraging AVIC Optoelectronic's mature domestic supply chain and large-scale production capabilities, this high-voltage interconnect solution for energy storage balances standardization and customization. It can be mass-produced and adapted to standardized energy storage containers, and can also be customized for lightweight designs based on energy storage manufacturers' PACK integration solutions, aligning with the new integration trend of CTP/CTC high-density battery packs. To date, the product has successfully entered the sample verification stage with leading domestic energy storage integrators and top battery companies. After passing comprehensive tests including electrical reliability, environmental aging, and tens of thousands of insertion/removal cycles, it is expected to quickly transition to small-batch, targeted supply.
Industry analysts indicate that there is still a significant gap in domestic substitution in the high-end market for high-voltage connectors for energy storage. AVIC Optoelectronic's complete solution fills the gap for domestic manufacturers in the complete 1500V high-power energy storage interconnect system, further breaking the monopoly of overseas brands in the high-end energy storage high-voltage connection field. With subsequent verification and implementation by leading customers, this series of products is expected to become a new growth curve for the company's energy storage business, deeply benefiting from the large-scale construction dividends of domestic large-scale energy storage and industrial/commercial energy storage.
